Choosing a brief

The brief I have chosen is the promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:

• A website homepage for the band;
• A digipak for the albums release;
• A magazine advertisement for the digipak

The one out of the three ancillary tasks I have decided to do is to create a digipak and the magazine advert for the digipak.

I feel that this is the best brief for me to have chosen because I feel I can be more creative with my ideas as music videos are something that I am really interested in because I watch and listen to them on a daily basis. Also the other briefs I feel are not really for me as I find that creating a story line to a music video would be easier and more enjoyable for me personally than creating a short film or trailer. I also feel that you need good actors for the trailers/short films that are good with dialogue whereas I feel that for a music video it would be easier for me personally to find actors for a music video as in music videos there tends not to be dialogue as the song is the noise in the video. Due to not have in made a video before this brief will challenge me. My skills predominately lie with Photoshop which is why I have chosen the ancillary tasks that I have therefore I don't have to learn too many new skills for the ancillary tasks meaning i can focus predominantly on the main task of making my music video.
