Target market summary from all research
Now that I have done lots of research into my target market, I now have a finalised idea of who my market are. My target market are males and females between the ages of 17 and 20 mainly because I am in this age range so I have prior knowledge about it. They're also people who are mature music fans so they enjoy music videos which have a sophisticated meaning behind them and then finding the deeper meaning instead of passively watching. They're people who enjoy indie rock music videos and they listen to bands such as The 1975, Kodaline and Mac DeMarco. I am also a fan of this genre therefore this adds to why people who listen to this genre are my target market. They're people who watch music videos for entertainment as they enjoy watching them. They're people who enjoy standing out from the crowd and thus why they would enjoy a music video that is unconventional as it stands out from the crowd therefore their music that they listen to could be said to form them as a person and add to the fact they have a personality that is different. They're people who are inspired by the vintage and retro period and enjoy things surrounding the 70's era for example clothes. My target market are young people that shop at places like Urban Outfitters, Asos Marketplace and other vintage independent shops, doing so will make them feel more of an individual. Their hobbies are art, photography, music, sports, Netflix and going out and being sociable. They're people who take good care in their appearance. Their personality traits are that they're laid back and they're people who are already fans of Mac DeMarco so they're not offended by things like nudity, lewd behaviour, off colour jokes and strange content. Furthermore my target market are people who watch music videos on places like YouTube due to not having an income coming in really to pay to watch music videos and also they're sociable people therefore they find out about music videos through other people.

Retro- Style Inspiration
Although the song I have chosen is from the indie rock genre I feel that the style of the actual video will take a different turn and it will not conform to the conventional indie rock style in terms of artists clothes and mise en scene. This is because when doing direct questioning the words that came up to describe the music video were along the lines of 'psychedelic', 'euphoria' and 'trippy' these are words which are highly associated with the retro era of the 60's as being in a 'trance' or psychedelic state in which the song and video portrays was most common in the 60's due to psychedelic highs. Therefore I am going to create a mood board of the retro/vintage style as inspiration for my video this can be in terms of setting, costume, lighting and all mise en scene really and this will also help me when it comes to planning my ancillary tasks as I can then plan to have a retro style even though my genre is indie rock which them both together is unconventional however this doesn't matter as I am subverting conventions all together like Mac DeMarco. Thus my music video having a post modernist approach as Baudrillard said 'Everything is a copy of a copy' so yes I am using the retro style and also Mac DeMarcos style but this doesn't mean my ideas aren't original this also means my target market will have a secondary and primary audience it will mean that my product will appeal to not only indie rock fans but fans of the retro. When referring to Platos theory of forms once I put all my 'perfect' 'original' ideas that are in my head into action they will just become imperfect copies because the original perfect form actually already exists like Mac DeMarco and the theme retro.
Initial quick idea notes on my video
These are very quick notes I initially made on my phone after looking on Pinterest for inspiration and after listening and watching the Lose Your Mind music video by Kodaline. Therefore when it comes to planning and story boarding I can look at these quick notes that I quickly got down to frame my video.
Inspiration from direct questioning
Here what I am going to be doing is from the results from the direct questioning I am going to be doing a search on some of the words in which my peers came up with for the Lose your mind video to get some inspiration for the content of my video. The websites I am going to be using are 'Pinterest' and 'Tumblr.' As these are where I usually get inspiration for various things from and I feel this will be beneficial for the creativity of my product.
The first word in which I have done a search for actually wasn't on the mind map from my direct questioning but one I think it is prominent and that is 'Submerged' as I feel that the song is about being submerged into another state whether that be meditation or in this case something deeper. The word submerged springs to mind when ever I watch Mac DeMarcos videos who is my style inspiration and also the Lose Your Mind video therefore this will be the first search I make.
Other words I searched for from the mind map research are:
Now I have gathered some images I can look back at this when planning my music video for style inspiration and I can base some of the scenes in my music video around these images due to these all fitting with the song. And I know that they do due to me searching the words which come to my target markets mind when watching the existing Lose Your Mind music video.
In addition these words and images remind me of a film Iv'e watched which relates to these words like 'Trippy' and the effects of taking something unnatural. The film Hot Tub Time Machine has a scene in it which could be classed as 'trippy' due to the people in the scene drinking a lot. It includes features such as the use of wearing masks like in Mac DeMarcos music videos and also I believe that even if the scene didn't show the men drinking i think the audience would still be able to understand that they had being drinking due to the content as it encodes meaning that they had been drinking by having strange and abstract content. Therefore this clip has gave me some inspiration for my music video due to them drinking they're submerged in something else and that is what the Lose Your Mind song is about.
